END Captains Responsibilities & Guidelines
The Team
Captain designates a player as an " End Captain " for the end of
the court opposite that of the Team Captain. The Team Captain is
the “End Captain” for their end of the court. These Guidelines
apply to both the Captain and End Captain of each team.
· End
Captain assigns one player at the scoreboard end to post all
scores for the team.
· The
End Captain of each team at the non-throwing end of the court
stands at the side of the court near the pallino and serve as the
referees (Official Referee rules apply). If they agree on the ‘IN’
color they notify the other end of which color should throw. If
they disagree, they measure and then notify the other end of which
color should throw. (Unless additional measurements are requested
by the thrower, measurements are made only to determine the “IN”
ball until all balls have been played. Once the “IN” ball has been
agreed upon, that “IN” ball cannot be changed unless a later
played ball or hit ball is moved closer than the “IN” ball or the
“IN” ball is moved by another ball.)
· After
all balls have been played the End Captains report the point score
to scorekeepers.
· Only
the End Captains may go on the court for measurements. (No more
than 2 people on the court for measurements.)
· End
Captains for each team designate one player to return balls and
one player to rack balls after points have been determined. (No
more than two players, one from each team on the court to return
balls.)
· End
Captains (or any team member) can only use non-verbal signals to
instruct partners at opposite end of court during a match. |
